i have been thinking a lot lately about death.
this is not surprising considering the turn of events on the 11th.. i have been re-awakened to the transient nature of human life and how it can go in the blink of an eye.
as the bible says life is vanity and a striving for the wind.. with all of the talk about world war 3 and how dangerous this world has become, i have been on a bit of an emotional roller coaster this past week.. the fear of dying is a normal and basic emotion.
I think my fears begin and end with the current knowledge that once life's physical processes cease to function, it is actually over.
It can't be undone, turned around or reversed, yet. If I lose someone very close, that person will actually expire for good. It will be permanent. Once the breathing stops, the eyes will close, and the heart stops beating, and then it's over.
Refusing to let go of someone will not prevent it or reverse it, nor will crying or trying to keep the person awake and talking. It is hopeless. Death is the most irreconcilable concept. I hate it.
There is so much I want to live for and I literally have to condense my lifelong choices, dreams and aspirations, because I won't have time to carry them out.

The struggle of native american indians is a brilliant example of exploitation. While Richard is correct in stating they were nomadic peoples, not property owners; for who can own the sky or land?
The americans wasted no time at all in taking advantage and exploiting those simple, but noble beliefs. In the end, it is all over and past. While I agree with carefully planned reparations, I don't believe the government will ever make good.

You do not necessarily have to be black to understand oppression and suffering that has not affected you personally, but you do you need examples like the ones I provided if you deny it's validity.
Only you can say or publicly demonstrate your bias,or lack threreof by your position on the issues. You make solid points from your point of reference, but because it is a racial issue, it is a multifaceted situation. I think I understand you and your position. If I did not have any exposure, I mean integrated daily exposure to the black community and black side of issues, then I would definitely feel exactly the same as you do right now!
You can't be faulted. We are all products of our environments. Yours may have lacked a sufficient, deep, integrated exposure and blending with the many sides of the black community, or maybe you are a victim of urban crime. I don't know. I know you are intelligent, that counts enough for me.

some of you have read posts here, and on other forums, in magazines and newspapers, and maybe watched tv commnetary that alleges president george w. bush is less than brilliant, perhaps under-qualified for office, etc.. evidence seems starkly missing from these allegations.
during campaign 2000, the media started painting gw as being mentally 'one can short of a six-pack.
' but, has anyone, and i mean anyone provided even an ounce of evidence to support this?

I agree with your dissection of my comments, but need to further qualify them a bit. While it is true that no leader makes decisions based on another leader's grammar, it is the known presidential factor on the economy that makes other leaders nervous.
An inept and incompetent person will make and cause others to make incorrect decisions, which cause crisis in different arenas of government.

I am going to put myself in a very vulnerable position, but here goes; I am incredibly afraid of the eventual death of everyone I love and care about, least of all myself.
When I was "worldly" death never, I mean never mattered nor entered into the picture. 15 years of dubdom has made death a major part of my psyche and daily thought processes.
Lately, since beginning my exodus, I am afraid again.

Finally, you make statements that I can find agreeable. I count my blessings very carefully, every day. Yes, I am glad I was brought here from another place.
I counted my blessings when dodging PLO snipers in West Beirut in '83 and Cuban snipers in Grenada later that year. I also remember Panama on two occasions and Operation Bright Star in Cairo in '85.
I don't cheat on my taxes (I will start however, now that I am no longer a JW) and I have never committed any felonies. I have earned my education and my free speech the hard way.
Have you ever lived in the projects? Have you ever used food stamps? Have you ever humiliated when filling out forms and asking (treated like we were begging) for assistance in public offices?
Until you experience any of these things, you have at least partial bias in your frame of reference. Think about it, that's all I can ask as your fellow american and fellow member of this forum.

I have to disagree with you here, unfortunately. Call it fear, call it panic, but everyone on the planet is concerned about GW's abilities, and lack thereof.
